The KingFather had a minor surgery last week.
So, it was back in and out of hospitals.
We survived that with God's blessings but are in for a major round 2.

It's been a while since I was here.

I celebrated another anniversary of my 25th birthday.
The King got another year older too.
We went for a weekend to Thailand.
My sister and the kids came down and spent quality family time.

Last night was like a night from hell
I was lying in bed watching TV and my mum bangs on the door and grabs me
I see my father sitting up in bed drenched and soaked in blood from head to toe
There was blood gushing out of his head and it refused to stop
Twenty minutes later we were in the hospital
5 stitches later I say, "Thank you Lord, it could have been worse"

I've become quite the accountant lately.
A job that I was qualified for but never took on.
There is a certain joy to the addition and multiplication of numbers in your bank balance.
I still can't bring myself to play the market though.

Thinking back over the last year

- Its been over a year since I quit my job

- Its been almost a year since my dad was hospitalized

- Its been 5 months since my dad left the house

- Its been a fantastic year for the King and I - we're reaching our 2.5 year mark next month

- I have never been more involved in family matters

- I have grown more as a daughter in the last one year - actually I think I'm a better human being now

- I have much more value for money

But the one thing that has also helped keep my sanity is believe it or not is Zynga Cityville.

Thank you Zynga and thank you all my neighbors out there.

I remember when I was a child, I had loads of pen-pals that I would write letters to around the world.
Today I call them blogger buddies.
While I miss seeing ink on paper, I know there are days in the last year I relied on my blogger buddies for so much emotional support.
